The Doctoral Conferral Ceremony (ceremony in the Concert Hall and the Ecumenical Service) on 20 May streamed live via Livekatsomo.

At the ceremony, persons holding a doctoral degree from Åbo Akademi University are conferred. Also, the Faculties confer Honorary Doctors, either for the person’s solid scientific merits or in acknowledgement of substantial contributions in society. A person, who has defended a thesis 50 years ago, is conferred as Jubilee Doctor.

The doctoral conferral ceremony starts at 12.00 noon at Turku Concert Hall. After the conferral ceremony, the promovendi and members of the ÅAU academic staff leave the Concert Hall in procession to Turku Cathedral for an ecumenical conferral church service. In the evening at 7.30. p.m. there is a Banquet at Logomo.

All arrangements will be carried through according to the possible corona restrictions that apply at the time of the conferral ceremony.
