Computer related problems? No access to the Åbo Akademi University intranet? You have come to the right page.
Åbo Akademi University has introduced an annual mandatory test on information security and data protection. In accordance with the Rector’s decision, the test is compulsory for everyone with an active ÅAU username. If you have not completed the test you will lose access to your ÅAU account.
You can find the test at infosecmoodle.abo.fi, where you can log in even if your account is locked. Use your short username and ÅAU password to log in. Please note, that to pass the test all parts of it must be completed. Note also, that if your account has been locked, you will have to change your password after completing the test.
Åbo Akademi University uses MFA for some of our services e.g., Microsoft cloud services (Teams, Office software and our intranet).
You will need an Android phone/tablet or an iPhone/iPad to be able to enable MFA for your ÅAU account. The registration will happen the first time you try to log in to any of the services.

1. Have you missed the mandatory test on information security and data protection?
Åbo Akademi University has introduced a compulsory test on information security and data protection for everyone with an active ÅAU username. If you have not completed the test you will lose access to your ÅAU account.
To get the account reopened you will have to log in on infosecmoodle.abo.fi and complete the test (use your short username and ÅAU password to log in). Note that with your account locked you will not have access to anything else but the test. This means that you will have to complete the test from a device you have access to without ÅAU credentials. You could for example complete the test using your phone or your own computer. NB: you must change your password after completing the test.
2. Has your account been hacked?
If the ICT-service notes that an ÅAU account is being misused, the account will be locked to prevent further misuse. In this case you will not be able to change the password yourself, and you must contact the helpdesk to get it sorted (helpdesk@abo.fi, phone 02 215 4777).
If you suspect that someone else has gotten access to your account you must change your password immediately by loggin in to Selfservice and then contact helpdesk (helpdesk@abo.fi, phone 02 215 4777).
3. Is your account still valid?
Staff accounts are closed when employment ends. Student accounts are closed if term registration is not completed.
NB: You can keep your ÅAU email address when you leave Åbo Akademi University. Read more about this on the intranet well in advance of leaving us.
You can read your ÅAU mail with a web browser at exchange.abo.fi.
