Jamie Hyneman to hold public lecture at Åbo Akademi University
Jamie Hyneman, known as one of the hosts of the popular TV series MythBusters, will visit Åbo Akademi University for a public lecture on 1 April 2025.
Hyneman is an American special effects expert, inventor, and entrepreneur with a long career in technology, engineering, and product development.
Since 2021, Hyneman has been a Professor of Practice at LUT University. He will visit Turku to familiarize himself with the sustainability research conducted at Åbo Akademi University
In his lecture, Hyneman will discuss creative problem-solving and the Climate Innovation Coalition (CIC) – an initiative he co-founded to promote sustainable development through innovation and collaboration.
Hyneman will also talk about the role of academia in contributing to a more sustainable future. He will highlight how students and researchers can leverage their expertise and creativity to drive real change through research, education, and innovative solutions.
The event is free and open to the public. The lecture will be given in English and will not be livestreamed.
