Åbo Akademi offers courses and modules as FITech ICT studies.
Most of the courses are streamed and/or recorded to allow participation at distance and at times to study on your own schedule.

Basic Studies: Digital Kompetens (“Digital Skills of the Future”) 2020-2021
Basic courses are taught in Swedish (SWE). The aim of the module is to learn the basics of the opportunities and challenges of digitalization in the society of the future. The module also serves as a good basis for IT training. Plus, you get a language immersion in Swedish!
The module consists of bachelor-level 5 credit courses. You decide how many courses of the module you will take. We recommend starting with the courses 1) Introduktion till informationsteknologi and 2) Programmering I.
The module consists of three entities:
- Basic IT skills:
- Introduction to Information Technology (5 cr, SWE),
- Programming I (5 cr, SWE)
- Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (5 cr, SWE)
- Consumer perspective:
- Kravhantering av Mjukvarusystem (5 cr, SWE)
- Människocenterade Design (5 cr. SWE)
- Producer perspective:
- Programming II (5 cr, SWE)
- Databaser (5 cr, SWE)

Advanced Module: Data Science 2020-2021
Data Science module consists of three bachelor level 5 credit courses.

Advanced Module: Industrial Internet 2020-2021
The Industrial Internet module consists of four master level 5 credit courses. Therefore, the module fits best for individuals with previous technical education, such as a degree in mechanical engineering. You decide how many courses of the module you will take. After the Industrial Internet module, you may well continue the courses in the Cloud Services module.

You decide how many courses of the module you will take. The Cloud Services module is suitable follow-up for the Industrial Internet module.

- I have applied to course in Studyinfo/Opintopolku. When I will receive more information about the course?
- Course information is sent usually ~2 days after application period has ended or latest a few days before course starts.
- Where can I find course schedule?
- Search course in Studiehandboken.abo.fi
- What are SelfService, PEPPI, Moodle and ViLLE?
- SelfService is used for ÅA username and email activation and management
- PEPPI is for study rights and course enrollment. Sometimes important course info is sent only via PEPPI.
- Moodle is learning platform with course information, material, lectures and assignments.
- ViLLE is learning platform with course information, material, lectures and assignments It is used in some of the programming courses.
- How to transfer credits to my home university?
- Credits can be transferred to your home university via puro.joopas.fi. Ask help from your home university study advisor.
- How to get transcript of records?
- Go to PEPPI student.abo.fi and to your HOPS (list of your courses). Upper right corner has “Download Transcript of Records (PDF)” button. If you need a signed version, please email us.
