 The Archive Collections will temporarily move out of the Book Tower and will be closed 1 March –30 September 2025. We will reopen at a temporary address in October 2025. This timetable is subject to possible changes.  

We ask customers of the Archive to prepare for this well in advance and to plan their use of the Archive Collections considering the closure period.  

The Picture Collections are already closed and will be available again from January 2026.  

The closure is part of a wider programme to update our services. The Archive Collections and our Collection of Rare Books will be given appropriate space for storing, accessing and managing our priceless material in the renovated Book Tower of the future.
