Åbo Akademi University closes campuses, cancels events
Due to the current situation Åbo Akademi University has closed its campuses, and transitioned to distance education and remote work. As of 18 March no students or members of staff are allowed to visit the campuses in Turku, Vaasa, or the premises in Husö and Korpoström.
Until 13 May, as long as the the state of emergency is in force, no events will take place on ÅAU premises. Organizers have been asked to postpone their events, arrange for remote participation, or to call the events off. See our event calendar for upcoming events.
Doctoral dissertations will be held according to plans, but can only be followed via video link.
Due to the current situation, libraries are also closed:
- The libraries in Turku: The libraries are closed from 18 March. Remote service by e-mail, and through the e-resources provided by Alma, will be maintained. The institutes’ libraries are also closed.

- The Institute of Maritime History at Åbo Akademi University is closed until further notice.
