Double degree programme with Indian university receives funding

The Finnish National Agency for Education has granted 64 000 euros to Åbo Akademi University for a project which aims to create a double degree doctoral programme between ÅAU and The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi, India.

“The double degree programme will be at doctoral level and further promote other collaborations between the two partner universities at the highest level,” says Tan Phat Huynh, Associate Professor (tenure track) in Molecular Process- and Material Technology at ÅAU and head of the programme.

The mobility students will join a laboratory or research group at the partner university to perform their research for six months. They will be assigned a supervisor at the partner university, who will act as the cosupervisor for the doctoral thesis. A cotutelle agreement will be signed for each doctoral candidate ensuring the smooth completion of the doctoral study.

The project is funded as a part of the Team Finland Knowledge (TFK) programme and runs 01.08.2024 -31.12.2026.
