Health Campus Turku launches new service for product development

New Health Campus Turku research, development and testbed service TERTTU boosts the testbed activities in the healthcare sector in Southwest Finland and enables co-creation of new solutions with health care professionals.

The new research, development and testbed service is launched in the beginning of June. The service brings together different testbeds and developers in the healthcare sector. Initiatives related to testing or product development will be directed to one-stop service. The service aims to accelerate research and product development in the companies and to offer new joint services which combine the knowledge and facilities of different testbeds.

“The joint service portal and the processes behind it give us possibilities to develop entirely new service combinations. We are more agile in answering to companies’ needs in their product development,” says Janne Lahtiranta from Turku Science Park Ltd.

The Health Campus Turku research, development and testbed service is a result of many years national development. The need for a service which brings different testbeds together into a joint service platform, was originally recognized in the national testbed network coordinated by Business Finland. In Southwest Finland, the concrete form of testbed service has been created in Terva project which has received funding from European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

– We offer testbed services for companies of all sizes. We strive to offer easy access to services and we hope that companies would contact us with low threshold, says Elina Kontio, Director of Health Tech Lab from Turku University of Applied Sciences.

Through the new joint service, researchers, product development specialists and companies have the opportunity to utilize testbed services and platforms from all member organizations of Health Campus Turku network. The services are included from the local universities and universities of applied sciences, Turku University Hospital and Turku Business Region.
