Michel Rouleau-Dick
Postdoctoral Researcher, Åbo Akademi University
My experience has been overwhelmingly positive, not only based on the quality of teaching but also because of everything the university and the city have to offer to students.

Why I chose this programme: The reasons why I chose the Master’s Degree Programme in International Human Rights Law at Åbo Akademi University are many: from the excellent quality of the courses to the friendly atmosphere of the programme. Having first been initiated to the Master’s Degree Programme as an exchange student, I had the chance to experiment first-hand some of the courses and get an appreciation of the studying environment before committing myself to complete the programme. As I concluded my Bachelor’s degree in public affairs and international relations in Canada, I wanted to deepen my understanding of human rights and it is this desire that brought me back to the programme, this time as a degree student.
The studies: My experience has been overwhelmingly positive, not only based on the quality of the teaching but also because of everything the university and the city have to offer to students. The courses provide a comprehensive portrait of human rights, as well as an excellent understanding of their role in today’s complex world. The Institute for Human Rights ensures a dynamic and exciting studying atmosphere, where it is possible to work and study with qualified researchers and professors.
Additional comments: I highly recommend the Master’s Degree Programme in International Human Rights Law for the exellence of its cursus, its motivating study environment, and the multiple opportunities available for students within the university and the city.
