Research within subject cluster Process and Energy Technology is made in following laboratories:
Laboratory of Energy Technology
Research in Energy Technology makes use of approaches for energy systems, where material and energy flows are integrated with state-of-the-art technological solutions, the economy and legislation serve as the basis for improved energy and material efficiency as well as for reducing environmental impacts.
Laboratory of Industrial Chemistry and Reaction Engineering
- catalysis, kinetics and chemical reactor technology
- use and valorization of molecules from biomass is a core area in our research, particularly hydrogenation, oxidation, epoxidation and isomerization of multifunctional molecules. The reaction products are used as fine and specialty chemicals, components in green fuels as well as ingredients in pharmaceutical and alimentary products.
Laboratory of Industrial Management
- industrial investments and project activities in energy and transport.
- research topics include industrial logic, technology commercialization, cross-border business models, project management, system integration and innovation, functional solutions, transformation of industrial logic, and “governance” models.
Laboratory of Process and Systems Engineering
- process development, process modelling, process optimization and process simulation
- energy distribution, energy storage, novel energy systems based on sustainable energy sources and CCS are of particular interest
