  • FIRI2022 local infrastructure call. Application as a consortium PI. Consortium leader: Mikko Metsä-Ketelä, Dept. of Life Technologies (UTU), co-PIs: Arto Pulliainen (UTU-Biomedicine) and Tassos Papageorgiu (Turku Bioscience). TuProtCore was established in 2021 to support local research in protein science including availability and development of infrastructure. The infrastructure includes facilities for protein production, purification, biophysical characterization, structural biology (cryo-EM) and setting up infrastructure. Åbo Akademi will apply for Cryo-EM sample preparation unit (purhase in 2023 and installation 2023-2024) and QELS/MALS/Optilab characterization pipeline as an upgrade for Äkta protein purification (system planning, purchase and installation in 2024-2025) and 6 moths salary/year for senior scientist (Tomi Airenne) to manage the purchase and implementation as well as digitalization of the TuProtCore facilities at Åbo Akademi (reservation, invoicing, user training and training material).
