Master’s Programme in Finnish Language
Admission to the Master’s Programme only entitles you to earn a Master of Arts degree. You must therefore first earn your Bachelor’s degree/lower university degree in order to be eligible for admission.
University studies in languages provide much more than just words and expressions, grammar and correct usage. Indeed, language studies comprehend every conceivable aspect of linguistic systems and expressions as well as the relationship between the language itself and literature, culture, history, traditions and attitudes. You will learn how to take a scientific approach to language, learning new things about the language and its function, variation and evolution.
At Åbo Akademi University, Finnish is studied in an informal atmosphere, where small student groups allow for a personal, interactive learning experience.
The Master’s Programme in Finnish Language will provide you with a wide range of skills and knowledge, and you will study theories, key concepts and methods in linguistics.
